Beloved husband of Eileen Ann Bergin, loving father of Richard (Lisa) Bergin, Patrick (Marianne) Bergin, Edward (Gina) Bergin, Kevin Bergin, Sean (Jeanette) Bergin, Eileen (Steve) Cunningham and the lateTimothy Michael Bergin, cherished grandfather of Olivia, Connor, Peyton, Paige, Emily, Cole, Emmett, Paisley, Jenna and Sean, dear brother of the late AnnMarie and Thomas, and also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Bergin was a retired First Grade NYPD Detective, Past-President of the NYPD Emerald Society, and long time member of the NYPD Holy Name Society, the Honor Legion and the F. Kowalinski Post. He was also a 40-year member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3701- Woodside, NY. Richard was also a United States Marine Corps Veteran.
