On September 12, 2023, Joseph Zawacki passed away into God’s loving arms after his battle with complications due to Agent Orange at the age of 76.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Stacey, his sons Joseph (Allison), Michael (Megan), and his daughter Valerie (John); He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Joseph, Phillip, Michael, Maddox and Molly, his brother Ted (Robin) along with many nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Thaddeus and Victoria Zawacki.
A warrior throughout life, Joe grew up in Maspeth, New York. He answered the call to serve in the United States Army and was deployed with the 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam. He was awarded many honors during that time including the bronze star and the combat infantry badge. Joe was a man with strong convictions and devout faith along with a personality that was larger than life.
A viewing was held on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm at Roberts Funeral Home 19939 E Pennsylvania Ave. in Dunnellon. A funeral mass was held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church located at 7525 US Hwy 41 in Dunnellon on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 10 am.
