FLUSHING — The summer-long Queensboro Dance Festival concluded its 13th season with a vibrant final show at Queens Theater Saturday afternoon, showcasing both traditional and contemporary dance from around the world with performances by 20 Queens-based dance collectives.
The festival’s finale — broken into three performances at 2pm, 5pm, and 7pm — comes on the heels of a more than two-month-long tour around the World’s Borough, with free performances held at public parks, swimming pools, amiptheaters and open streets throughout Queens.
Saturday’s first performance featured traditional Latin flamenco from Flamenco Latino, contemporary dance from RH Moves, Mexican folkloric dance from Manhatitlan and Argentine tango from Silvana Brizuela Weigel, as well as a Hawaiian Hula performance from Na Pua Mai Ka Lani Nuioka and a contemporary jazz/house performance by the Ah-Molla Dance Collective.
