Brookyln Cyclones go streaking, win six straight games

The Latest: The Cyclones went on a six game winning streak last week, feasting on Mahonig Valley and Tri-City. Brooklyn even got a measure of revenge against Mahonig Valley, the team that knocked them out of the playoffs least year, but sweeping the Scrappers by a combined score of 16-9 over three games. The Cyclones are 20-11, good for first place in the McNamara division.

The Cyclones did their damage on offense, posting back-to-back 7-4 wins over the Scrappers and beating Tri-City by scored of 8-0 and 7-6.

Cyclone of the Week: Pitcher Ryan Fraser was a reliable arm in the Brooklyn bullpen last week. Fraser earned three saves in each of his three appearances for the Cyclones. Fraser was untouchable on July 14 against Mahonig Valley, pitching two innings, striking out three and allowing only one hit. On the seasno, Fraser has four saves and a mind-boggling 0.68 ERA.

Notable Performance: Third baseman Brian Harrison was a wrecking ball on July 15 against Mahonig Valley. Harrison batted 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and six RBI.

Upcoming Schedule: The Cyclones will play three games against Steder division cellar-dweller Lowell before playing four against the second place Staten Island Yankees.

Upcoming Promotions: July 25 is Sunday Funday. There will be numerous promotions for fans. Before the game, fans will be allowed on the field for catch, and after the game kids will be allowed to run the bases.
