Dear Editor:

Last week, I took my daughter to the Excalibur Reading Program at A Place To Dance School of The Arts located at 55-19 69th Street in Maspeth led by Angelica Harris. I strongly recommend it.

She read Fox In Socks by Dr. Seuss to the children. First, she had them make sock puppets to use while she read the story to them to act it out. After she read the story she gave each child a goody bag to take home plus their sock puppet.

The only problem was that there were only two children there. Thursday's class is for 3 to 5 year olds and it is from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday's class is for children 6 to 10 year olds and that is the same time during July and August.

You only have to give a donation if you prefer, otherwise if you can't afford to pay it is free.

My daughter really enjoyed herself. I plan to take her every Thursday until September, then she can go in the older class because she starts first grade then.

This program is for all children, especially those of impoverished means, and for those who have children with special needs.

Sincerely,

Charlene Stubbs

Maspeth
