Summer is coming, and the sun is shining much brighter and warmer. Due to the warmth of summer, we have very green full trees, shrubs, and brightly colored flowers throughout our Woodhaven. As the weather warms up, little baby animals become more visible. Please make sure that all of our house pets and wildlife are treated kindly.

If you witness any animal abuse, please call ASPCA Humane Law enforcement

Department at (212) 876-7700 ext 4452. You can report any injured animals to this same number. Please note SNIP is another animal rescue group that rescues cats and dogs. Call Regina at (917) 658-4524.

WAnother animal lover, Jamie, advises that our elected officials should be encouraged to support the Truth in Fur Labeling Act to prevent dog or cat fur (used in clothes) from coming to the U.S.A. Please call or write our U.S. Senators and our New York City Congress members to support this important bill.

Remember our Woodhaven firehouse is still in danger of closing. I will keep you posted on what Woodhaven community action will be taken.

Now to Summer Events 2010 in our Beautiful Forest Park. (Sorry, this year no Doo-Wop shows and no karaoke.) Please attend and enjoy!
