Dear Editor:

After reading the letter from a Kenneth L. Brown from Forest Hills, regarding Honorable Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr., our New York State Senator, and Aqueduct Raceway I pondered responding, then I realized I was compelled to respond.

Firstly, as a member of a family that is represented by New York State Senator Addabbo, I take umbrage with your calling our esteemed New York State Senator, “Joe”.

Also, in regard to your assumption that we his constituents are “suckers” please do not insult us with your misguided perception of what and who we are. This Project Aqueduct will benefit all of Queens with construction jobs and employment.

Every day that this Project is delayed Queens loses 1 million dollars. This is why we support our Senator in calling for a timely decision on Aqueduct. As to the “suckers” that will throw away their money, if you go by a location for busses to Atlantic City, there is always a line. The people lined up “suckers who throw their money away” are from all over, probably even some from Forest Hills.

If these individuals are to gamble, let them do it in New York City, so that we may in New York City benefit from their gambling.

In conclusion, our New York State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. speaks for us, and we support him in his stated Aqueduct position. Your perception of we who live in his District is very misguided and without basis or knowledge.

We don’t appreciate your letter or you calling our Senator, “Joe”; he is our New York State Senator who represents his constituency and their thinking and he is our New York State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. to you and everyone else and don’t you forget it.

Sincerely,

Stephen R. Esposito
