4:30PM ABC: Rose Bowl Game: Oregon vs Ohio State: Teams with contrasting styles: Oregon’s high flying offense vs Ohio State’s dominant defense. It will be worth watching just to see what crazy uniforms the ducks wear to the game.
8:30PM FOX: Sugar Bowl: Cincinnati vs Florida: An almost-national championship game has been overshadowed by Urban Meyere’s resignation-turned-leave-of-absence this weekend. Count on the announcers spending at least an hour talking about what Urban Meyer means to football, but make sure to catch Tim Tebow’s final college game.
Saturday January 2
1:00PM YES: Cavaliers at Nets: Yi Jianlian has been playing well for the Nets as of late, but the main draw is going to be LeBron James. Any clue on how many points he’ll hang on the Nets? We’re guessing 38 and 6 assists. This one is going to be ugly.
Sunday January 3
8:30PM NBC: Bengals at Jets: The Giants flopped last week in their final game at Giants Stadium, but the Jets will try to avoid a similar fate as they play the last game ever at the old football stadium. Monday January 4
8:00PM FOX: Fiesta Bowl: TCU vs Boise State: Both teams hoped they’d reach the national championship game, but the consolation prize is that the winner will probably end up ranked number 2 in the country. We may not have a playoff, but we do get this exciting matchup of high-octane offenses.
Tuesday January 5
7:30PM Christ the King at St. Francis: Both teams are off to hot starts right now, Chris the King is 4-0, and St. Francis is 9-2. This is an important early matchup in what looks like it will be a competitive BQ Division.
8:00PM FOX: Orange Bowl: Iowa vs Georgia Tech: The least sexy of the BCS bowls, the Orange Bowl is Georgia Tech’s first BCS bowl appearance, and Iowa’s first since 2003. It’s another offense vs defense matchup, as Georgia Tech’s explosive offense will try to force their will on a stingy Iowa defense.
Wednesday January 6
7:00PM YES: Nets at Hawks: Hey Nets and Knicks fans, this is your first look at Joe Johnson, the scorer-du-jour on the Atlanta Hawks who will be a free agent at the end of the year. Johnson’s averaging 21 points per game for an Atlanta team that is dominant in the Eastern Conference.
