I understand that there has been recent information sent to your newspaper concerning the ill-mannered and inattentive staff at Caritas/St. John’s Queens Hospital. I find that it is my duty as a recent patient to inform you that the truth is quite the contrary!
Thru my six-day stay from September 1st thru September 6, 2008, in both the emergency room and at 3 West Wing, I feel that both the emergency staff and the nursing staff deserve the acknowledgement and praise for their professionalism and quick response to care for a patient (myself) in great pain and distress. Specifically, these staff members were rapid in their wonderful patient care, their bed side manner, exceptional attention and profound compassion for the speedy recovery of myself and other patients: Nurse Jean (ER); RN Linda Casaccio, RN Theresa, RN Ruby, Nurse Karen Zimeak and PCA’s Carole (3 West Wing); and Dr. Torres and Dr. Salman V. The staff was courteous and caring beyond compare!
I am not one to give undo praise, but this is well deserved! I want to thank all of those “angels” at Caritas/St. John’s Queens Hospital for a job well done. I feel it is important to share this information with your newspaper because it is important for your readers to know that the staff at Caritas/St. John’s Hospital IS making a difference in a patient’s care while being hospitalized. It is a very difficult time when an individual is ill or immobile and has no idea what is wrong. They helped ease my concerns and were with me on every step towards recovery. Thank you for your attention with regards to this matter.
