Allan A. Sandford
Allan A. Sandford, age 70, passed away on June 3, 2009 at the St. Joachim & Anne Residence Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY, after a long battle with cancer. Allan was born in Panama, Rep. of Panama. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1959 residing in Manhattan before moving to Brooklyn. Allan was a U.S. Navy (Seabee) and Vietnam Veteran. Allan was also a champion cyclist in Panama. Allan loved his family, cooking and the Mets. He is predeceased by a son Allan Jr. and is survived by his wife Carmen, daughter Lesly and son Jeff of Brooklyn, N.Y., brothers Victor of Millstone Twp., NJ and Cirilo of Brandon, Fl, grandchildren Allan III, Kayla, Amanda, Jessica, Ethan, Erika, nephew Edward and niece Sara and brother-in-law Jorge Pinilla of Queens, N.Y. and other relatives in Panama. Reposing was at the Hess-Miller Funeral Home. Burial followed at the Calverton National Cemetery.
