Admissions Requirements: Creating an admission portal at sfponline.org//AdmissionsApply.asp is where you complete the online application for St. Francis Prepatory School. It will also be a way for us to assist you in this application process through the school year. Applicants for the 9th grade are expected to take an entrance test in 8th grade. NYC residents take the T.A.C.H.S. Test on November 9. Nassau & Suffolk County residents take the Catholic High School Entrance Exam (CHSEE) on October 26.
Following the entrance exam:
• Catholic school students: Once you register for the T.A.C.H.S. test, the testing company will forward a 9th grade applicant record form to your 8th grade teacher.
• Public school students: You must submit the applicant form to your current teacher and have it mailed to the Admissions Office at St. Francis Prep. If the form is not available, please submit copies of your 6th, 7th, and 8th grade report cards.
• Nassau & Suffolk County students: If you have a similar form, submit it; otherwise, send copies of your 6th, 7th, and 8th grade report cards.
All students must submit their 6th, 7th and 8th grade averages by December 18. Saint Francis Preparatory School also reviews attendance, lateness, and conduct. Scholarships are offered to the students who score highest on the TACHS and who put St. Francis Prep as their number one choice. Saint Francis Prep admits students without regard to race, color, and/or country of national origin.
School Motto/Mission: “Deus Meus et Omnia: My God and My All.” St. Francis Prep is a Catholic, college preparatory school in the Franciscan tradition. Our mission is to enable all students to develop and broaden their spiritual, intellectual, creative, emotional, social, and physical attributes. We value the unique contribution each person makes to the Prep community. Together we create an environment filled with academic success, respect, integrity, and joy.
What makes St. Francis Prep a Top High School? St. Francis Prep offers a traditional, college preparatory curriculum with the opportunity for students to pursue their areas of interest on a sophisticated level. This balance makes our program unique. Students may choose electives from all academic subjects, including Art, Business, Computer Science, and Music. In addition, our Franciscan tradition emphasizes what we call the Four Golden Links: the intellectual, spiritual, physical, and social. This emphasis provides students with a balanced and well-rounded education that prepares them well for success in college and beyond and for continued life-long learning. “High school is four years; the Prep is Forever.”
