Governor Andrew Cuomo shouldn't be proud of his General Election win.
He had the benefits and perks of eight years in office, including daily free media coverage. And don't forget periodic mailings from state agencies and authorities at taxpayers expense, promoting his so called accomplishments.
Every Democratic Party city, state and federal elected officials, along with most labor unions, endorsed him.
He raised over $40 million, primarily from pay-to-play and other special interest groups. His Republican opponent Marc Molinaro raised $1 million, affording him virtually no media buy.
Cuomo followed the Rose Garden Strategy of hiding behind his campaign commercials and participated in only one token debate.
Cuomo received votes from only 3,349,999 of 11,574,222 eligible registered voters. When you add up the combined votes of those who either cast ballots for Republican Marc Molinaro, Green Howie Hawkins, Libertarian Larry Sharpe, Serve America Movement Stephanie Miner, and those who voted for none of the above by staying home, the real winner was Anyone But Cuomo with 8,224,223 votes.
This is not a mandate for a Cuomo 2020 Presidential run.
