If taking our Scholarship Exam (November 18), you must file application by November 10. We require one of the following entrance exams: TACHS, HSPT, CHSEE, COOP/HSPT, ISEE, or SSAT.
We must receive official 6th, 7th, and 8th grade transcript before December 15, 2017, to make a decision by the deadline. Teacher Recommendations are optional, but strongly suggested. The recommendation forms may only be sent to a recommender after an applicant has completed the online application.

What makes Xavier a Top High School? Founded in 1847, Xavier High School is an academically rigorous, Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory school in New York City that educates intelligent, motivated young men of diverse backgrounds and means. Xavier teaches students to take responsibility for their lives, to lead with integrity, to act justly in service of others, to pursue excellence in every endeavor and to deepen their relationship with God. Ultimately, Xavier forms young men who will go forth to transform the world for God’s greater glory.
Fifty-five percent of students participate in at least one athletic team, and 40 percent participate in two or more seasons. Student and faculty-led spiritual retreats for all four years. Over 20 percent of students participate in a Companion of St. Francis Xavier Service or Immersion Trip in a given year
Our seniors do 72 hours minimum of Christian Service, working in schools and social service agencies throughout metropolitan New York City each Monday of their 2nd Semester. We have three College Counselors, in addition to six Guidance Counselors.
