The second annual “Only in Queens” Summer Festival took over Flushing Meadows Corona Park with a day of fun, family-friendly activities.

Funk music legend George Clinton and his band, the Parliament Funkadelic, headlined the Summerstage concert in front of a roaring crowd. Hip-hop artist and Queens native Roxanne Shanté hosted the concert, which also included DJ Marley Marl, R&B artists Chloe x Halle and hip-hop group Main Source.

In addition to the Summerstage concert, the Unisphere Stage featured bebop and hip-hop artists Bartlett Contemporaries, 60s cover band Alive N’ Kickin and doo-wop group The Devotions.

The New York State Pavilion Painting Project held guided tours of the New York State Pavilion. For history buffs, a park-wide scavenger hunt was held around the park, with clues that test participants’ knowledge of the 1939-40 and 1964-65 World’s Fairs and of the park as it is today. All day long, food and craft vendors from the Queens International Night Market served up delicious meals.
