A tribute was held at St. Michael's Cemetery on Saturday to celebrate the king of ragtime, Scott Joplin.

Hundreds gathered at the cemetery for the musical event to honor the famous composer who died in April 1, 1917 and was buried there.

The celebration was held outdoors and featured a live performance from the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra as well as a free barbecue for people to eat while they listened to ragtime music.

In addition, a memorial bench was installed on the composer's gravesite to commemorate his life.

The bench was paid for by over 50 donors from different parts of the world who admired Scott Joplin's music.
