Mississippi burning

Dear Editor,

Mississippi has passed the "Protecting Freedom of Conscience from Government Discrimination Act. Sounds wonderful doesn't it? What it really does is allow people to refuse services to anyone based on "religious objection."

You'd like to eat in my restaurant? First tell me which magic man in the sky you believe in. You'd like to order a cake for your wedding? Sorry, my god says you're an abomination.

Disgraceful. But what else would you expect from a state that ratified the 13th amendment abolishing slavery...in 2013!

The law doesn’t protect religious belief. It protects bigots who discriminate against LGBT people and zealots who place their religion above the law.

Sincerely,

Robert LaRosa
