Spartan Race turns Citi Field into obstacle course

Over 8,500 people competed in the Spartan Race held at Citi Field on Saturday. The Citi Field Race was a Spartan Sprint, which is a three-mile long, 15-plus obstacle course.

The top three male and female finishers qualified for free entry into a Super Spartan – an eight-mile, 20-plus obstacle course. The top male finishers were Dominick Celli Paoli (Bloomfield, NJ), Johnny Tieu (Brooklyn), and Eddie Kovel (Decatur, GA). They all complete the race in approximately 32 minutes.

The top three female finishers were Julia Powell (Manhattan), Rachel Ackley (Oyster Bay, NY), and Tracey Marino (Staten Island), who all finished in about 38 minutes.
