No Money Left For Handouts

Dear Editor:

I am getting sick and tired of people asking for money. Everywhere you turn, I see requests for donations in the mail, in phone calls, and in the church. (I understand the weekly contributions. I know you have to keep up the building, but you have pledges and parish dues too.) Come on.

My job is not giving any raises. The only raise I get is more work. Rent is going up, food is going up, care fare is going up. In the words of John Stossel, “Give me a break!”

Sincerely,

Dorothy O’Connor

Maspeth
