The first round of PSAs will focus on jaywalking and dangerous driving, while future announcements will address issues such as double-parking and littering.
“We want to further educate the public about obeying the laws,” said Koo.
The PSAs were created in conjunction with the television station Sinovision and the World Journal newspaper, both of which will run the announcements beginning in the next week.
Koo, who came up with the idea for the PSAs, is featured in the ads, as is Captain Tommy Ng from the 109th Precinct.
“Traffic is very important as far as improving the quality of life in Flushing,” said Ng. “Pedestrian safety is our number one priority, especially along Main Street and Kissena Boulevard.”
