Elizabeth Crowley has worked diligently for the areas of western Queens since she has been in office, representing the area in the City Council since January 2009. In that short time, she has brought attention to the development of schools, keeping firehouses open, and earned a reputation as a tireless worker for preserving the infrastructure of the community.
Union endorsements might not be as significant this year as they usually are in this type of race, but Crowley, although not endorsed by the Queens County Democratic Party, has gotten endorsements from a few unions and Associations that would normally go with the preferred county Democrat.
Along with a host of others, the PBA, Uniformed Fire Officers, Teamsters and City Sanitation Workers Union have all endorsed Crowley.
When you get down to what makes her a better candidate, we see Crowley as able to deliver more dollars to New York through Congress. We like the way she has spent her time in office, fighting for more police, fire services and not being afraid of challenging the City Council speaker on more than a few issues when her constituents counted on her to represent their interests.
More importantly, she has more intellect than most people give her credit for and she is truly as comfortable walking with the working class than any of her opponents in this primary. We see a vote for Crowley in the 6th Congressional District on June 26 as a solid choice.
