Brooklyn is known for its quaint boutiques that offer objects, jewelry or clothing that you won't find anywhere else.

And this upcoming weekend, what better way to usher in the spring season than heading out to Williamsburg and checking out the Brookyn Vintage Crawl—an event sure to leave you walking away with some instant treasures.

Founded in 2011 by two Williamsburg residents and vintage enthusiasts, the Vintage Crawl makes finding great pieces at affordable prices easy, while promoting local Brooklyn businesses.

Kathryn Irby, a former fashion editor at Lucky Magazine and vintage consultant teamed up with FreeWilliamsburg.com writer and show promoter, Emily Lichtenberg, to explore the idea of a new kind of crawl.

Irby claims, “Williamsburg has become a vintage-hub for the city. From design teams to tourists, everyone knows to venture into the neighborhood yet are unfamiliar with the great stores off the beaten path of Bedford Ave.”

The crawl is part of the larger SHOP, DROP & DRINK event with Domino Brooklyn, Northside Merchants Association & Krrb.

The Spring Crawl features stores and bars from the Williamsburg and Greenpoint area in Brooklyn.

Some of the stores that are part of this spring's crawl include Antoinette, Catbird, Horizon's Vintage and Jumelle.

Caitlin Dourmashkin, Manager at the Northside Merchants Association, explained the vision behind the Shop, Drop & Drink.

“We wanted the neighborhood to really come together on a single day as a shopping destination. Those of us who have lived in Williamsburg for years have watched its growing array of small businesses give our neighborhood a real personality and we need to continue to support them in order to protect the integrity of the area," she said.

This walk will also feature a designated bargain hunt through the best vintage shops in Williamsburg and Greenpoint

Participating shops are featuring special pieces from their collections, as well as promotional discounts on various items.

Local bars along the path are also teaming with the group to offer drink specials or appropriately themed “Vintage Cocktails”.

A self-led map of the crawl route is available for smartphone download from the new (free) Williamsburg app, Domino, at m.hellodomino.com - “Your mobile smart guide for exploring Williamsburg”.

Crawlers will receive discounts and promotions throughout the neighborhoods and tweet about their finds in real-time.

The Domino Smart Guide app enables attendees to view the event map and target their favorite stores and bars.

The Domino Smart Guide app also lets shoppers chat with each other, as well as participating retailers.

To unlock a store’s special deal, shoppers will snap a picture of the item they wish to purchase and post it to their Facebook wall. Driven by the shopper’s post, the Smart Guide app will immediately unlock the store’s e-coupon for use.

The event will be held Saturday, April 7 from 12-7 p.m..
