A far cry from the Zucccotti Park fiasco, Brooklynites know how to protest in a more intelligible manner. Federal subsidy programs, upzoning blocks of commercial and industrial properties and tax breaks to banks (who laid off hundreds of workers) are creating a situation in Brooklyn where “...only the favored few get to haul in tons of cash where the 99.9% can’t,” said one protester.
It’s pretty difficult to argue their point...right now. It makes you think. No tents, no smell, no weird people, just Brooklynites.
