A La China Loca hat by Anastasia
The Made in NYC Local Trunk Show starring three prestigious designers from Brooklyn and Queens kicked off last Tuesday evening at Polar Lounge in the Marcel Hotel in Manhattan!

The Dress Recycler along with Allie Levine Events hosted the event series that will continually run for each season. The beautiful silver and winter white décor of Polar Lounge was a perfect set up for the event. Designers came to display their merchandise back in the private VIP ‘caves’ which gave each designer the feeling of having their own individual pop-up store.

Tons of supporters for each label along with the public came out to shop, sip fancy cocktails and network with others in the creative design and fashion fields. Designers included Tina from Tina Tang Jewelry, Anastasia from La China Loca Hats and Cheryl from Bambina di Cioccolato Leather Goods.

Tina Tang (www.tinatang.com) is the epitome of stylish, affordable, classic pieces that you can and will wear for the rest of your life. Tina’s creative vision has landed her a store in the Limelight Marketplace in Manhattan along with a very lucrative online business. Her attention to detail and elite customer service puts her head and shoulders above most jewelry designers. Her genuine stones and authentic pieces really give the customer a style and flair that most people inquire about when wearing. “Where did you get that?” is a question that most of her customers hear when wearing her jewelry on a daily basis. Prices range from $15.00 to $500.00; a price point to fit any budget.

Anastasia of La China Loca (www.lachinaloca.com) was the talk of the town with her eclectic collection of avant-garde and vintage inspired hats and headwear. Customers were piling into her ‘cave’ trying on the various styles of pillbox, sailor, and floppy wide brimmed beach hats. We had so much fun walking around modeling her hats as each person that browsed her collection got to wear one of her designs for the evening. Her style and appreciation for the history of millinery takes her product to a height that is rarely seen in today’s hat designers. Prices range from $40.00 to $300.00 for custom orders. Fabulous!

Cheryl of Bambina di Cioccolato (www.bambinadicioccolato.com) provides the most perfect, adorable and affordable leather goods in a rainbow of colors. With her kitschy girly sayings and stencil designs she creates a fun, flirty shopping environment for customers of any age. She specializes in bags, cards holders, wristlets, handbags and totes to help keep your life organized and orderly. All of her products are 100% leather and exceptionally durable, original and unique. Truly the perfect gift!
