Lilian Tintori wife of jailed Venezuelan opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez, holding a copy of the Venezuelan constitution , takes part in a rally against Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro's government in CaracasBy Andrew Cawthorne and Diego Oré CARACAS (Reuters) - Hundreds of thousands of opposition supporters rallied across Venezuela on Wednesday against socialist President Nicolas Maduro, whom they accuse of becoming a dictator by blocking a plebiscite to remove him. The opposition coalition says Maduro must go, but Venezuela's electoral board last week canceled a planned signature drive to hold a recall referendum against him, citing fraud. Enraged foes said Maduro, a former bus driver and union leader who narrowly won election to succeed Hugo Chavez in 2013, had crossed the line.

Smoke rises the sky as migrants and journalists look at burning makeshift shelters and tents in the "Jungle" on the third day of their evacuation as part of the dismantlement of the camp called the "Jungle" in CalaisBy Matthias Blamont CALAIS, France (Reuters) - French authorities said on Wednesday they had finished clearing the "Jungle", a squalid shantytown outside Calais built by migrants who had hoped to make the passage to Britain but whose last inhabitants are now mostly dispersed around France. President Jacob Zuma of South Africa speaks during a high-level meeting on addressing large movements of refugees and migrants at the United Nations General Assembly in Manhattan, New YorkBy TJ Strydom JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South Africa's anti-graft watchdog has told President Jacob Zuma that its report into possible undue political influence of his friends is final, dimming his hopes of adding to its findings as he battles pressure from within his own ANC party to resign. Zuma filed an affidavit in court on Tuesday asking whether the report was final and if he would be able to question witnesses himself and respond to accusations he allowed an Indian-born business family to interfere in state affairs. Zuma, facing calls to quit from opposition parties and even within the ruling African National Congress due to his links with the Gupta family, denies any impropriety, as do the three businessmen.
