At around 0220 GMT, Brent North Sea crude for July delivery was up 27 cents at $50.01 a barrel while West Texas Intermediate was trading 21 cents higher at $49.77Brent crude passed $50 a barrel for the first time in 2016 in Asia Thursday after data showed a fall in US crude inventories, adding to expectations of a tightening global market. "In 2009 she fought for preserving collective bargaining rights and stood up against attacks on collective bargaining when we needed her. The union's backing will be important in battleground states in the industrial "Rust Belt," such as Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania, which are thought to hold the keys to November's election.

Crude oil drips from a valve at an oil well operated by Venezuela's state oil company PDVSA, in the oil rich Orinoco belt, near Morichal at the state of MonagasBrent oil futures climbed above $50 a barrel on Thursday for the first time in nearly seven months, boosted after U.S. government figures showed a sharper-than-expected drawdown in crude stocks last week. Brent had climbed 31 cents to $50.05 a barrel by 0225 GMT, its highest since Nov. 4. U.S. crude futures rose 23 cents to their strongest since Oct. 12 at $49.79 a barrel, after settling the last session 94 cents higher.
