Syria humanitarian adviser Jan Egeland said on Thursday, as a local politician warned that 150,000 people there faced "extermination". Five months of negotiations over aid plans have produced "nothing", Egeland said, and it was up to the United States and Russia to try to coordinate a deal.

"We are aligning our corporate structure with the way we do business, which is no longer in geographies, but in segments that group together countries with common market and growth characteristics," McDonald's said in a statement. The move will also help to cut costs, McDonald's said.
