A helicopter flies into thick smoke while battling a major forest fire outside of Fort McMurrayBy Rod Nickel ANZAC, Alberta (Reuters) - A massive wildfire that has forced all 88,000 people to flee the western Canadian oil city of Fort McMurray and burned down 1,600 structures is now threatening its airport and communities well south of the town, authorities said on Wednesday. With a few neighborhoods already in ruins, worsening fire conditions Wednesday pushed walls of flames toward thousands of more homes in the northeastern Alberta town, in the heart of Canada's oil sands region. Officials confirmed that a hotel north of main terminal had caught fire.

U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said on Wednesday he would not bail out Puerto Rico if he were in the White House. Asked in an interview with CNN what he would do to help the U.S. commonwealth, Trump said "No, I would not bail out Puerto Rico," saying it had too much debt. It owes another $1.9 billion on July 1 that Governor Alejandro Garcia Padilla says it cannot pay.

Donald Trump, the presumptive U.S. Republican presidential nominee, said on Wednesday he was "open to doing something" with the country's minimum wage, but added that any increase would have to be weighed against a potential loss of competitiveness. "I'm open to doing something with it," Trump said in an interview with CNN, adding that he did not like the current $15 an hour level.
