An Italian merchant ship rescued 26 migrants off the coast of Libya in rough seas and others were feared missing, the Coast Guard said on Saturday. The Coast Guard received a call from a satellite telephone on Friday but no voice was heard. An Italian merchant vessel in the area was diverted and on Friday night rescued the 26 from a rubber boat that had taken on water.

Rescue workers search for residents feared trapped in the rubble of a six-storey building that collapsed after days of heavy rain, in NairobiBy George Obulutsa NAIROBI (Reuters) - Rescue workers raced on Saturday to save more residents trapped in the rubble of a six-storey Nairobi building that had been condemned by the authorities and collapsed overnight after days of heavy rain. President Uhuru Kenyatta visited the site of Friday's disaster and ordered the arrest of the owners. "We are still hearing some voices from the collapsed building," Kenya National Disaster Operation Centre director Colonel Nathan Kigotho, told reporters at the scene.
