Former Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert (L) pictured in the courtroom at Jerusalem's District Court before hearing the verdict in his corruption case on March 30, 2015A Jerusalem court found former Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert guilty of corruption Monday over allegations that he received envelopes of cash from a US businessman, Israeli media reported. It was the latest legal blow in a humiliating fall from grace for the debonair man who took over as premier in 2006 after his mentor and predecessor Ariel Sharon lapsed into a coma from which he never recovered. He had initially been acquitted of fraud and corruption in the case, escaping with a $19,000 fine and a suspended jail sentence for breach of trust in 2012. The six-year prison sentence handed down against Olmert in May last year was the first ever against a former Israeli premier for corruption.

(R-L) Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, EU High Representative Federica Mogherini and EU Political Director Helga Schmid with foreign ministers before the start of the P5+1 meeting at the Beau Rivage Palace Hotel in Lausanne on March 30, 2015Foreign ministers from major powers pressed their Iranian counterpart on Monday as they sought to slot into place the final but also the trickiest pieces of a deal curtailing Tehran's nuclear programme as Tuesday's deadline loomed. Britain's Philip Hammond said as he became the last of the foreign ministers to arrive in a rainy Switzerland that they "believe a deal can be done". "But it has to be a deal which puts the bomb beyond Iran's reach," he said. With time of the essence, US Secretary of State John Kerry, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Hammond and the top diplomats of Russia, China, France and Germany are meeting for the first time since November.

Flags representing differents nations are deployed during an homage ceremony with family members of victims, in front of a stele, a stone slab erected as a monument, set up in memory of the victims in the area where the Germanwings jetliner crashed in the French Alps, in Le Vernet, France, Sunday, March 29, 2015. The crash of Germanwings Flight 9525 into an Alpine mountain Tuesday killed all 150 people aboard, and has raised questions about the mental state of the co-pilot. Authorities believe the 27-year-old German deliberately sought to destroy the Airbus A320 as it flew from Barcelona to Duesseldorf. (AP Photo/Claude Paris)MARSEILLE, France (AP) — A French police official says European investigators are focusing on the psychological state of the 27-year-old German co-pilot who deliberately smashed an Airbus carrying 150 people into an Alpine mountainside.
