In late deals, Brazil defender Luiz returned to Chelsea after two years at Paris Saint-Germain, while France midfielder Sissoko left Newcastle United for Tottenham Hotspur. The two moves took spending for English top-flight clubs to around £1.17 billion ($1.54 billion, 1.38 billion euros), according to Sky Sports -- a record for a single transfer window.
