(Reuters) - Florida police had three people in custody and were searching for additional suspects in a shooting outside a nightclub that left two teenagers dead and as many as 18 people wounded early on Monday. Police in Fort Myers said terrorism was not a factor in the state's latest gun violence this summer, but provided no details about a possible motive or the individuals who were detained. The shooting occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m. EDT (0430 GMT) in the parking lot of Club Blu, which was hosting an event open to teenagers, the Fort Myers Police Department said.

Nearly 3,000 firefighters were battling the so-called Sand Fire, which has charred at least 50 square miles (130 square km) around the rugged northwestern fringes of the Angeles National Forest since it broke out on Friday, authorities said. By Monday morning evacuation orders had been expanded to about 10,000 homes, encompassing an estimated 20,000 to 30,000 people, fire officials said.
