Bill Haas rolled in some huge birdies and made some key pars on the back nine to beat five challengers by one shot and win the PGA Tour's Humana Challenge. This is great," said the 32-year-old Haas on Sunday. Haas shot a final round 67 to finish the week at 22-under-par 266 and win for the sixth time on the PGA Tour. Second-round leader Matt Kuchar finished with a five-under 67 and he ended tied for second along with Charley Hoffman (64), Brendan Steele (64), Park Sung-Joon (65) and Steve Wheatcroft (67) at 21-under 267.
Moroccan authorities said on Sunday they arrested a suspected Algerian member of the militant group responsible for kidnapping and beheading French tourist Herve Gourdel east of Algiers in September. An al Qaeda splinter group known as Caliphate Soldiers kidnapped Gourdel when he was hiking in the Algerian mountains. The suspect, who was with another individual still on the run, was arrested in Beni Drar, near the Moroccan city of Oujda, a statement from the Moroccan interior ministry said. Oujda is located a few kilometers from the Algerian border.
