Anthony Como wasn't the only GOP candidate to pounce on an opportunity to discredit their challenger this past week.

Rick Lazio, who is running for governor and will likely face current Attorney General Andrew Cuomo this November, unveiled a new web ad that features Cuomo planting a big ol' sloppy one right on the cheek of Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver. Okay, it's not exactly a “big ol' sloppy” kiss, it's more of a peck, but in the world of Albany politics, a kiss is a kiss.

The candid moment was captured by Azi Paybarah, the former Politicker blogger and current WNYC reporter, at a State Democratic function, although we were unable to pin down the exact date.

The Lazio campaign is using the smooch to connect Cuomo to insider Albany politics, and while it is an effective image, we here at Pol Position undoubtedly enjoyed the goofy dance music that plays throughout the entire ad. It's worth tracking down.
