Dear Editor:

With our government in deep debt, we ordinary citizens can think of lots of ways for our government to save money. You would think common sense would prevail in Washington DC, but that is not the case. One way to begin avoiding bankruptcy would be to stop all foreign aid. What could these politicians be thinking of in giving away money that we first must borrow? This could not possibly be the result of stupidity but deliberate planning.

I do not pay my neighbor’s mortgage and our government should not pay the bills for foreign governments. There are many ways to save money (and our taxes) such as stopping the two wars started by deliberate lying and subterfuge. Perhaps it is time to end our participation in the UN who, by the way, instigated the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and borrowed our troops to fight them.
