As a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam era, I am appalled that the NFL has rejected an ad by a veterans group for Super Bowl LII.
AMVET wanted to place a $30,000 full-page ad in the game program that will be handed out to fans at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The ad would have featured soldiers holding up a flag beside the message"#Please Stand."
In my opinion I see this as an act of patriotism in support of all those in the military who have served with honor and dedication protecting the liberties we all hold most dear today.
If you want to support the group, text “veterans” to 444999 or visit AMVETS.org.
