As the increasingly violent protests over the death of George Floyd continue across the nation, it is becoming very obvious this is just the mere tip of the iceberg.
The officer who was responsible for this innocent man's death will now be charged with homicide, and hopefully receive the maximum penalty the law will permit.
People will continue to express their justifiable anger and outrage at Mr. Floyd's death, however the looting and burning of businesses is not the ways to express one's justifiable outrage and anger. Under our Constitution, we have the right to protest peacefully, not to unleash destruction or intentionally cause injury.
The voices of hundreds of thousands of people across our nation must continue to be heard, albeit peacefully and nonviolently.
