For the second-straight season, St. John’s women’s golf head coach Ambry Bishop has added a pair of golfers during the early signing period as Kaitleen Shee and Queens native Linda Wang signed National Letters of Intent (NLIs) to play for the Red Storm beginning in the 2016-17 season.

“I am very excited about the additions of Kaitleen and Linda to our program next fall,” Bishop said. “They have strong junior backgrounds and I look for them to carry that success to St. John’s.”

Wang makes the short trip to Jamaica from Fresh Meadows. The local product shot three-under par to tie for first at the Women’s Metropolitan Golf Association (WMGA) Public Links.

She also claimed an individual title at the WMGA Junior Girls Open and has been named IJGT Player of the Week twice. Wang also earned a fourth place finish in the Golfweek New England Junior Invitational.

Shee comes to Queens from Irvine, California, and competes in the highly renowned American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) circuit.

She placed sixth at the 2015 AJGA Greg Norman Champions Golf Academy Junior Championship earlier this year with scores of 74-75-76—225.

The incoming freshman also registered sixth-place finishes at both the 2015 AJGA Gary Golchrist Golf Academy Junior Championship and the 2015 AJGA ACDS/Ryan Moore Championship.

“Both are very excited to come to school in the New York area and be part of the St. John’s family,” Bishop added.
