Here's a rhyme that I've penned. It's really a plea,
In hopes of making petitioning easier for you and for me.
June and early July brings a petition tradition.
Petition signatures from registered voters are needed for every politition
Who wants to be placed on the ballot an opportunity,
So on primary or general election their name on the ballot you'll see.
Any day now someone may ring your bell or knock on your door.
Political candidates need signatures, it's a New York law!
Republican's petitions are usually cherry in color; Democrat's are green.
It's just a neighbor going door to door for signatures that you may have seen.
Nobody will ask you for money, not even a dime.
Just your signature please, we'll ask you to sign.
So be a part of the political process it takes but a moment of your time.
Open the door for your neighbor with the petition, and please sign.
Sincerely,
Robin Marion
