Park dogs are out of control

Dear Editor:

It is a wonder why people who have dogs just don't seem to care about them. People who let their dogs run free- up until 9:00 a.m. in their minds in parks- don't understand the consequences of their pets actions.

At a recent event in Central Park, where 5,000 people ran, dog owners left their dogs to run free. They ran in front of the bikes, in front of the runners, and disrupted other events that were happening. Owners think they are always right.

What if dogs bite someone? What if they pee on someone's display? What if they get into a fight with another animal? They don't care! Who takes responsibility for these assaults?

The parks department, the city? The owner? NO ONE!

People use the parks for other uses. Why can't they enjoy a nice morning out? Let the owners be able to let their dogs go free at 3:00 a.m. We'll see how many take advantage of this!

Sincerely,

Randy Savitt
