Dear Editor,

The United States, Mexico, Canada Agreement (USMCA) is the replacement of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

This agreement runs 1,800 pages and is laden with regulations, and is everything President Donald Trump hated about NAFTA and more. It is not a good deal and I am surprised that he is in favor of it.

The solution is to have Congress, not multinational or international entities, decide trade and other policies that fall within the enumerated powers of the U.S. Constitution.

Both NAFTA and the USMCA lay the groundwork for a North American Union, and it threatens our Constitutional Republic because we shall loose our sovereignty as a nation

Sincerely,

Janey McCarthy
