Leather tooling was a huge part of the arts & crafts movement in the 1890s.
Last weekend, the King Manor Museum in Jamaica hosted an event, Craftsmen Days, which featured a variety of artisans showing off their 19th century trades. While traditional music from a fiddle and hammered dulcimer played on the porch of the museum, the front yard featured demonstrations of skills such as basket weaving, broom making, candle dipping and leather tooling. Inside, families got a chance to tour the museum and view artifacts that have stood the test of time.
