In a thrilling soccer game last Saturday at St. John’s University, the Msgr. McClancy Crusaders beat Mount St. Michael in the City A Soccer Championship game by a score of 2-1. McClancy took a quick 2-0 lead in goals scored by senior forward Sal Pipia.

“Sal is simply our go-to guy,” said head coach Mike Sylvester.

“He plays hard and true,” added coach Adam Brunengo. “He really came through tonight.”

McClancy had four all-conference players this season including Pipia, East Elmhurst’s Steven Marulanda, and Middle Village sophomores Matther Scimemi and Michael Ferrara. McClancy has won city championships two of the last three years.
