It was a close game, but Scholars Through Sports sealed the deal on Ray Diaz three-pointer in the last few minutes. Tom Kieblesz also contributed in the winning effort with his passing, despite tough defense from Swift Renovations’ Flavion Skulimowski.

In the 14 & Under Boys Division, Hi-Lo Pro beat St. Joe’s, 40-13. Hi-Lo Pro’s speed was too much for St. Joe’s, as Hi-Lo Pro pulled away in the 2nd quarter and never relinquished the lead. High scorers for Hi-Lo Pro were Mave Amento with 13 points and Joshua Ortiz with ten points. High scorer for St. Joe’s was Boubacar Wai with four points. Marcus Bianchi also contributed in the wining effort with great rebounding.

Anzib Rahman as well played great for Tranquility on defense.

High scorers for Flushing Express were Lino Gagliano with 18 points and Chris Escobar with six points. For Tiles Unlimited, the high scorer was Kenneth Vargas with nine points. Matt Recupero contributed to the victory with great passing.

Angelina Caracci also contributed to the winning effort with several big steals, and Massimo Todaro from California Pizza Kitchen led the team in assists.

Our Lady of Grace simply had too much height and speed, and pulled away in the 2nd quarter and held the lead the rest of the way. The high scorers for Our Lady of Grace were Adem Becaj with 13 points and David Kohani with seven points. The high scorer for Our Lady of Snows was Brian Allen with two points. Joshua Aviles also contributed to the win with outstanding defense and passing, and Owen Gluck from Our Lady of Snows did an amazing job on defense with outstanding steals as Our Lady of Snows continued to play tough despite the lopsided scoreboard.

In the 10 & Under Boys Division, Queens Kings beat the Bull Dogs, 25-22, in a game that wasn’t decided until the final minute of overtime. The high scorers for Queens Kings were Matthew Herman with 11 points and Anthony Hirschman with four points. The high scorers for the Bull Dogs were Deiondre with nine points and Krishen Persand with four points. Jaden Jenkins from Queens Kings also contributed to the win with outstanding defense and passing. Owen Cole filled the same role for the Bull Dogs in an intense.

In the 10 & Under Boys Division, Superior Metal & Woodwork beat Variety Boys & Girls, 21-15, in a close game that was not decided until the final minute. The high scorers for Superior Metal & Woodwork were Mike Salamando with five points and Nick Destafano with six points. The high scorers for Variety Boys & Girls were Zyaire Smith with wight points and Michaoz Paul with four points. Matthew Cipri also contributed to the win with outstanding defense and several steals. George Stacey from Variety Boys & Girls led his team in assists.

In the 14 & Under Boys Division, Street Ballers beat Sacred Heart, 53 to 50. It was a tight game when the Street Ballers stole the ball, scored, then stole the ball again and got fouled. Ion the one-and-one with seven seconds left in the game and winning by two point, Street Ballers made the first shot, but missed the second one. Sacred Heart rushed down the court and tried toe get a quick three-pointer, but Jessica Hickey stole the pass and held the ball for the final seconds. The high scorers for Street Ballers were Weseley K. with 22 points and Isaih Harper with 17 points. The high scorers for Sacred Heart were Joe Fragala and Alex LeBeau with 10 points. Amanda Flynn also contributed to the win with excellent passing.

St. Margaret 30

St. Adalbert 23


In the 14 & Under Boys Division, St. Margaret beat St. Adalbert, 30-23. The game wasn’t that close until the 4th quarter, when St. Adalbert picked up the intensity and began stealing the ball and getting easy buckets. But St. Margaret responded with some steals of its own and held off the late push. The high scorers for St. Margaret were Charlie Giacomaio with 11 points and Owen Motherway with four points. The high scorers for St. Adalbert were Patrick G. with nine points and Kris Pesantez with six points. Jack Sinnott also contributed to the win with outstanding defense and rebounding and four points. Thomas Hogan from St. Adalbert did an outstanding job stealing the ball and leading fast break in a must-see 4th quarter.

Ryan Flannery St. Kevin’s 50

In the 17 & Under Boys Division, St. Kevin’s beat Average Joes, 50 to 29. St. Kevin’s enjoyed a 24- 10 halftime lead after holding Average Joes scoreless in the first quarter, and allowing few points in the final quarter with some tight defense. The high scorers for St. Kevin’s were Nick DiVanna with 19 points and Sean Cunningham with 13. For Average Joes, the high scorer was Conor Mathers with 11 points. St. Kevin’s Christopher Machalek helped in the win with great defense.

Steve’s Pizza 55

In the 17 & Under Boys Division, Steve’s Pizza beat Queensway, 55-32. Steve’s Pizza had a 26-10 halftime lead, pulling away in the first quarter with the help of some excellent three-point shooting. The high scorers for Steve’s Pizza were Corey Hill with 16 points and Austin Chavez with 12. For Queensway, the high scorer was Thomas Sanchez with 13. Daniel Scarpulla helped in the win with great defense.
