Friedrich still really hates flyer

Speaking of contentious races, the way Bob Friedrich is making the rounds criticizing David Weprin and his former campaign manager, Corey Bearak, you might be surprised to hear that the election took place approximately one month ago.

Friedrich is still incredibly upset about a flyer that the Weprin campaign sent out that criticized statements Friedrich made in the past about hate crimes, and which also featured a Nazi Swastika. So upset, in fact, that he crashed a meeting of the Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council, of which Bearak is the president (awkward!), last week and demanded that the group officially denounce the flyer and all of those associated with it.

Few seemed willing to side with Friedrich, and things got heated between Bearak and Friedrich and included much shouting and Bearak threatening to call the police and have Friedrich dragged away in handcuffs. Friedrich eventually left on his own, but wasn't satisfied.

Two days later he showed up at the monthly meeting of Community Board 8 and made the same request, asking the board to officially denounce the flyer and those responsible. According to a Ledger/Star reporter at the meeting, some board members shouted down Friedrich, and when his few minutes of alloted time were up, board leaders attempted to usher Friedrich from the mic.

But Friedrich was ready for them, and strategically had a friend sign up for speaking time as well, and when his minutes were up, the friend conveniently allowed Friedrich to use his time to try and make his point.

Ultimately, the board chose not to get involved, but we can't wait to see where Friedrich turns up next.
