I read at two different times in the last month that deer spotted in parks in Queens and now in Manhattan were killed. In the case in Queens, it was a family of deer.
I cannot understand why they could not be relocated or sent to zoos? It seems that New York City is a killing zone for any wildlife that wanders into it.
The fox that came into the city was killed, the Canadian geese are regularly killed, and the snow owls are scheduled for extermination.
This is a very cruel lesson and example to set for our children, for they may think it is okay to kill animals, wildlife or domestic.
