Freshman forward David Louison of Brooklyn's St. Jospeh's College was named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) men’s basketball Player of the Week and Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference (HVMAC) men’s basketball Rookie of the Week.

Louison led the Bears to a 2-1 week and accomplished a rare 20-point, 20-rebound feat, scoring 24 points and pulling down 20 rebounds, both game-highs, in a losing effort to Brooklyn College. For the three game week, Louison averaged 14.3 points and 13.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 47 percent (17-of-36) from the field.

As of Sunday, Louison was ranked #12 in Division III in rebounding and was the second-highest ranked freshman, averaging 11.3 rebounds per game. Louison was also ranked #20 in double-doubles (7), but notched his 8th in the loss to Hunter on Monday.

Louison receives the AD3I accolade for the third time this season, with Bears collecting the award in five of the eight weeks it has been awarded. Louison also receives the HVMAC honor for the fourth time this season.
