The East Coast Car Association (ECCA) held a Classic Car Show in the parking lot of Maspeth Federal Savings on Sunday, raising money for St. Mary's Hospital for Children in Bayside.

The event raised more than $2,000 for the hospital, and a blood drive at the show netted 30 pints of blood.

“It would have been more,” said Mike Bilski of ECCA, “but they only gave us one nurse so we had to turn people away.”

ECCA hosts six such events throughout the year to benefit St. Mary's. Last year, the group donated over $15,000 to the hospital.

But in just under two weeks, the group will be holding a major event in Flushing to support the Robin Sue Ward School for Exceptional Children, which serves kids with autism.

The event will be held at the school, 56-37 188th Street, and will be much more than a classic car show, with a live DJ, kid's karaoke, food, blood drive, and a huge indoor flea market.

Admission is $3, and if you're a classic car buff who would like to enter your car in the show, that will cost you $15.

“Its' going to be big event,” promised Bilski. “There's going to be a lot of stuff to do.”
