Ending his three-nation Africa tour under intense security, Francis passed through a no-man's zone to enter PK5, a district where most Muslims who have not fled Central African Republic's capital Bangui have now sought refuge. A heavy deployment of United Nations peacekeepers with rifles and bullet-proof vests was present throughout PK5 and armored vehicles mounted with machine guns were positioned along the route of Pope Francis' motorcade.

Charges were brought against ex-New Zealand captain Chris Cairns after he sued Indian Premier League chairman Lalit Modi for libel in 2012 over a 2010 tweet in which the administrator accused him of match-fixingA British jury on Monday cleared former New Zealand cricket captain Chris Cairns of perjury charges over match-fixing in Test cricket. After a nine-week trial the jury of seven women and five men at Southwark Crown Court in London found Cairns, 45, not guilty of perjury and perverting the course of justice. BANGUI (Reuters) - Pope Francis left Central African Republic on Monday, bringing to an end his first trip to Africa. The pope's Alitalia plane took off from the capital, Bangui, at 12.30 p.m. (0630 ET) after he visited a Muslim enclave at the center of inter-religious violence and celebrated a Mass before tens of thousands of believers at the national stadium. (Reporting by Joe Bavier; Editing by Andrew Heavens)
