LOS ANGELES (AP) — Bob Thomas, the longtime Associated Press writer and dean of Hollywood reporters who covered a record 66 Oscar ceremonies, reported on the biggest stars, from Clark Gable to Tom Cruise, and filed AP's bulletin that Robert F. Kennedy had been shot, died Friday. He was 92.
US producer prices fell slightly in February, led by a drop in prices paid for services, according to official data released Friday that points to continued tepid inflation. The Labor Department said its producer price index fell 0.1 percent in February, following two consecutive months of minor rises. On a 12-month basis, PPI was up 0.9 percent, the smallest gain since last May. The February fall surprised analysts, whose average estimate was for PPI to rise 0.2 percent, matching the January increase.
