The price of iron ore, a key ingredient in steel-making, has dived by 60% over the past 12 months to reach a decade-low of $47.08 in early April 2015Anglo-Australian mining giant Rio Tinto records lower-than-expected iron ore output for the first three months of the year blaming poor weather conditions, but continued to boost its production of the commodity despite plunging prices. The world's second biggest miner said iron ore production was 74.7 million tonnes in January to March, a 12 percent increase from the same period in 2014, but a six percent drop from the previous quarter.
